It's the Yak-44, a concept that was never built because the USSR collapsed.

The Russian Navy now uses the Ka-31 helicopter AWACS. Used also by India and China.

The Royal navy has the AW101 helicopter awacs as well

is veteran's assistance almost exclusively a US thing?

not sure what you meen. im not totaly clear what it is. other than a program that helps veterans. in usa.
here in denmark we also have programs to help veterans. but might be not as good. as it being more of a new thing. since war is kinda new to us. so no tthat experienced in handeling veterans. isues.

but i doubt vets form ohter countrys can get help in the usa program. if htat what you meen ?. but i dont know.

or even most vets...

for the one with the HD it wasn't a great experience for him....

but for most of the others it is a highlight of their life and 3 of them are lifers

it is personal and even I don't know all the details but he is whole again 🙂 and I do online stretches with him every day to make sure he is staying active 🙂

Mainly if foriegn governments have something similar to the VA with housing and job placement
