This is an old article that caught my attention a few years back that discusses the history between Confucianism and Buddhism, and how the 2 systems of thought are in many ways diametrically opposed to one another, especially with regards to the nature of the self.

I remember a Roman tyrant, pretty dictatorial, one of Rome’s 7 kings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2020-12-11 22:44:56 UTC

https://www.britannica.com/biography/Tarquin-king-of-Rome-534-509-BC This is where the term tyrant originates from. But does being tyranical make you a dictator?

2020-12-11 22:45:36 UTC

no

2020-12-11 22:45:42 UTC

Actually it comes from Rome too

2020-12-11 22:45:54 UTC

Although dictator didn't have the negative connotation it does now

2020-12-11 22:46:04 UTC

They would take power during times of extreme emergencies

2020-12-11 22:46:14 UTC

During the Roman Republic

2020-12-11 22:46:24 UTC

And relenquish it when the emergency was over

2020-12-11 22:47:17 UTC

Rome's first dictator was Aulus Postumius Albinus, who was appointed in the first decade of the fifth century BCE, when the Latin allies revolted. This was a serious crisis and the Romans thought that only one man with extraordinary powers could solve the problems. This measure was successful and was sometimes repeated. A consul or (in emergency situations) praetor could appoint a dictator; this proposal could not be vetoed. https://www.livius.org/articles/concept/dictator/

2020-12-12 07:56:37 UTC

Is it ok if I can send the portiat of a Wehrmacht Captain in this chat? Is this the appropriate chat?

2020-12-12 08:03:42 UTC

@SpaceDandyJoestarGG I keep on seeing that there is a theory that the Bugs Bunny episode with the big chungus meme was made before the ending of World War II so there was a possibility that Hitler saw big chungus. That's what I heard. And I just can't help to say that because of your name. ~~Ngl it's a fucking cool name!~~

2020-12-12 08:07:22 UTC

Yeah lol thanks

2020-12-12 08:08:10 UTC

Also I believe it's fine posting pictures of the Wehrmacht

2020-12-12 08:16:24 UTC

Ok. I just don't want to get kicked or anything like that.

2020-12-12 08:20:34 UTC

This Wehrmacht Captain, I know his Last name is Hoffmann. But I don't know what his fist name is (I guess it's Von Hoffmann, Sense Germans back then or even now have a thing with the middle name of Von.) Also, It's sad what this man's fate could have been: Hunted down by the Soviets when they captured Berlin. And he did the autograph for his Family. So they will not forget him. So he was a run away. For his life.... I just feel sad for even thinking about it!

2020-12-12 13:31:02 UTC

SS Nazi party, Wehrmacht regular German army

2020-12-12 16:58:43 UTC

2020-12-12 16:59:20 UTC

Wanna know the difference between Antifa and the KGB?

2020-12-12 16:59:34 UTC

Atleast the KGB covers its tracks.
