yes that’s a gun
make sure i'ts unloaded first off.
always do a load check before having a finger near
I leave the clips out as a rule.
clear it. remove the mag and rack the slide twice to check
At least in the safe.
ok
now once the gun is clear
take it in proper grip and slowly pull the trigger
you want to pull til you feel a little resistance
this is what we call "the wall"
NEVER rely on safety. safety is a mechanical device. always rely on yourself to be safe
this is where most flinch will come from
My trigger finger is my safety
yes
some guns allow for what is called "pre-cocked"
keep your finger on the frame
that’s your safety
normal then pre-cocked
boom
those are very important
also
you have to violate multiple to have an accident
just my opinion
get comfortable with a gun with no safeties
in a real life scenario
like the glock
you won't have the time, or reaction to flip the safety off
I use a canik tp9da (da=double action) I can de-cock the striker and have the first shot in double action which is a 13lb pull
but second strike capability is of importance to me
I do not want a squib round or a delayed round
if I pull the trigger and that round doesn't go off, there is an issue
and you DO NOT want to point that gun away from the target
bullets are not a perfect science there can be fuck ups and delays
if you pull the trigger and the bullet does not go off keep it pointed in a safe direction put it down and step away after a minute go and check it and clear the malfunction
You mean “happy little accidents”
god no
that shit happens can get you killed, seen a guy have bad hangfire on a shotgun and nearly blew off his leg cause he let it hang on it's sling
