7.92x57 don’t mess around

2020-12-23 05:02:43 UTC

The recoil doesn't seem too bad IMO, I shoot 200gr. match-grade ammo, so that might help. Despite being 5 rounds and bolt-action, it is by far one of my favorite guns to shoot. I just wish the ammo was more readily available.

2020-12-23 05:02:54 UTC

I nut only for the Garand Ping

2020-12-23 05:03:04 UTC

*ping*

2020-12-23 05:03:16 UTC

I shoot just standard 148 grain PPU stuffs

2020-12-23 05:03:21 UTC

Isn’t it just basically a bigger 7.62?

2020-12-23 05:03:34 UTC

I mean I guess <w>

2020-12-23 05:04:21 UTC

what’s the muzzle velocity with those 200 grain projectiles?

2020-12-23 05:05:22 UTC

2181 fps

2020-12-23 05:05:34 UTC

According to PPU

2020-12-23 05:05:34 UTC

Oh so a bit slower

2020-12-23 05:06:15 UTC

I’m getting around 2790-2850

2020-12-23 05:06:37 UTC

What muzzle energy does the 148gr put out?

2020-12-23 05:06:37 UTC

with 148 grain boat tail FMJ

2020-12-23 05:06:50 UTC

lemme check real quick

2020-12-23 05:08:19 UTC

PPU states 200gr gets about 2109 ft lbs. That's 2859.42 Joules

2020-12-23 05:09:04 UTC

I’ve been running different ammo actually sorry I’m so used to running PPU

2020-12-23 05:10:32 UTC

Thats fine. I'm looking to pick up another 200 round case of 200gr match ammo as soon as I have the money.

I want to get into reloading, but I doubt that would sit well with my apartment managers.

2020-12-23 05:11:00 UTC

2,548 ft pounds with Wolf 148 grain

2020-12-23 05:12:03 UTC

Beautiful. That is some knock down power right there.

2020-12-23 05:12:12 UTC

dude for real

2020-12-23 05:12:21 UTC

It’s a vibe check

2020-12-23 05:12:39 UTC

And to be fair

2020-12-23 05:12:52 UTC

I always say that if I ever move to Alaska (which I have considered a lot) it'll be my moose gun.

2020-12-23 05:13:17 UTC

A 10.3 inch group at 200 yards ain’t too bad for a ‘43 nugget

2020-12-23 05:13:39 UTC

dude K-98 hunting would be sick

2020-12-23 05:14:16 UTC

I haven’t accurized it yet

2020-12-23 05:15:41 UTC

Not bad. I don't have an accurate measurement of distance at the range I go to (a practically unregistered plot of mountainside given to the gun community by local govt.). But I can say that I can consistently hit a Simply Lemonade bottle at around 100 meters.

2020-12-23 05:16:05 UTC

Provided I can see the bottle.

2020-12-23 05:16:11 UTC

nice

2020-12-23 05:16:46 UTC

Man I swear old war guns are just fun to take out and blast stuff ya know?

2020-12-23 05:18:14 UTC

Definitely. Not only do you get the fun factor, but also the knowledge that your gun participated in historically significant events. And of course, the wow factor that it brings.

2020-12-23 05:18:31 UTC

Ye

2020-12-23 05:18:48 UTC

I wanna go hunting with a Tokarev

2020-12-23 05:19:21 UTC

Dude, if you bag a deer with a Tokarev, I'll give you $50.

2020-12-23 05:19:36 UTC

Shit I’m down LMAO

2020-12-23 05:20:31 UTC

My dad: where’s your rifle?

2020-12-23 05:20:35 UTC

Me: yes

2020-12-23 05:20:42 UTC

2020-12-23 05:22:02 UTC
