self-interpretation is ok to a point. But saying something that goes completely against what the word says is adding AND taking away from the word.

2020-10-28 18:09:19 UTC

🤔

2020-10-28 18:10:02 UTC

@Osha19 now you can correct me if I’m wrong but he just had a difference in interpretation, he did not add nor take away parts of the Bible

2020-10-28 18:10:35 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 im citing a verse that talks interpretation of faith

2020-10-28 18:10:40 UTC

he said homosexuality is not a sin. The bible states that it is. That is adding and taking away from the holy book.

2020-10-28 18:10:57 UTC

Hm. True

2020-10-28 18:10:58 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 it explains not to criticize based on differences in faith

2020-10-28 18:11:23 UTC

Which verse was it

2020-10-28 18:11:33 UTC

Leviticus. About Homosexuality

2020-10-28 18:11:34 UTC

It was upstairs

2020-10-28 18:11:57 UTC

Are you talking about my verse or the homosexuality verse?

2020-10-28 18:12:02 UTC
2020-10-28 18:12:17 UTC

Y'all are quoting the Old Testament?

2020-10-28 18:12:20 UTC

There's your problem

2020-10-28 18:12:21 UTC

Smh

2020-10-28 18:12:21 UTC

**“Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.** For instance, one person believes it’s all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

2020-10-28 18:12:32 UTC

This is what i quoted @corny🌽🌽

2020-10-28 18:13:22 UTC

I kinda stepped between a debate on scripture between @Osha19 and @chaz

2020-10-28 18:13:41 UTC

What a tricky verse

2020-10-28 18:14:17 UTC

I swear the one thing I learn about and its disregarded. Does no one care about this verse?

2020-10-28 18:14:21 UTC

curse*

2020-10-28 18:15:33 UTC

The verse seems to be dealing with a Christian's personal interpretation of Scripture. I think what Paul was saying can be also put in the context of a [fictional] verse reading "eat well to glorify God". One might take that as be vegetarian, one might take that as eat whatever you want in moderation. Both are following God's Word, just in different manners.

2020-10-28 18:15:44 UTC

It is not saying to give pardon to all interpretations.

2020-10-28 18:15:58 UTC

If someone were to eat poorly purposefully, if the Bible were to command health, that would not be permissible.

2020-10-28 18:16:28 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 the heading of the verse was “The Dangers of Criticism”

2020-10-28 18:16:35 UTC

Those were man made headings

2020-10-28 18:16:45 UTC

Paul didn't have any headings.

2020-10-28 18:16:47 UTC

Moving on.

2020-10-28 18:16:51 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 this is correct.

2020-10-28 18:16:55 UTC

@Eagle Ok.

2020-10-28 18:17:47 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 the verse reads to me just as don’t criticize for differences in interpretation of faith.

2020-10-28 18:17:53 UTC

I know

2020-10-28 18:17:56 UTC

And that's what I said

2020-10-28 18:18:10 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 alright I gotta go to class now

2020-10-28 18:18:10 UTC

Interpret what is set in stone however you please, but make sure you follow it

2020-10-28 18:18:13 UTC
2020-10-28 18:18:32 UTC

@corny🌽🌽 you have a good day sir👏

2020-10-28 18:18:40 UTC

👌

2020-10-28 18:20:00 UTC

@Osha19 In the context of your verse, that relates to taking what is out of stone out of context and manipulating it. The Bible is not hard to understand, as you also said, as it was preached to poor men and dregs, not rich men and kings. It was universal and laconic. It is straightforward. So if anyone were to take these simple teachings and not follow them or add to them unnecessarily, damnation is invoked.

Such as thinking Matthew 16:18 establishes episcopalism
