How did you get saved?

2020-11-22 02:51:37 UTC

My dad gave me a book out of the blue called fresh encounter with god. It talked about the characteristics of a godly man and it convicted me. I got maybe 5-7 chapters In and called out the the lord. “Jesus save me from my sins, you’ve told me what I should be and I’m not that” and boom life changed. Since then I’ve been growing my relationship with god.

2020-11-22 02:53:08 UTC

I’m really only a toddler Christian Right now

2020-11-22 02:56:35 UTC

I remember when I was 9 years old I finally understood that I wasn't a good person and that I am a sinner. I had gotten saved on Sunday night church when I went to the pastor after coming forward during the youth program. He had made sure I understood that I knew that I was a sinner and that Jesus is God's son and that he died for those sins. I accepted him as my Lord and savior and at that moment the spirit of the Lord entered me and all I felt was pure Joy. I had literally started jumping for joy being full of the spirit.

Goof for you man. I didn’t get saved till I was a month before I was 16.

2020-11-22 02:59:33 UTC

So I’m getting confirmed as a Catholic in spring. I would like to know why some conservative Christians have problems with Catholics?

2020-11-22 03:00:27 UTC

@Milkgamer55 im just glad you made the choice brother.

2020-11-22 03:01:03 UTC

I dont have problems with catholics, but I disagree with their needing to be a pope

2020-11-22 03:01:13 UTC

I think it might have to do with the faith aspect of Christians

2020-11-22 03:01:32 UTC

Or the fact that they have confessionals where you go to preists not God himself

2020-11-22 03:02:05 UTC

So how do y’all get your sins forgiven?

2020-11-22 03:02:20 UTC

By simply asking god

2020-11-22 03:02:51 UTC

Nice

2020-11-22 03:02:52 UTC

When Jesus died on the cross he became the connection to God

2020-11-22 03:03:05 UTC

What about popes?

2020-11-22 03:03:23 UTC

They are just sinners like you and me

2020-11-22 03:03:29 UTC

They shouldn't have the right to change the bible

2020-11-22 03:03:57 UTC

They’re given the right to change the Bible?

2020-11-22 03:03:58 UTC

Catholic bibles have been changed in the past to fit their beliefs

2020-11-22 03:04:07 UTC

That’s interesting

2020-11-22 03:04:21 UTC

I’ve literally never heard of my religion in a bad light

2020-11-22 03:04:41 UTC

Do you think that was during the holy Roman age?

2020-11-22 03:05:05 UTC

The catholic church was formed during the Roman empire, it was to unify the pagans with the Christians to make a world religion

2020-11-22 03:05:23 UTC

Catholic church means world church

2020-11-22 03:05:40 UTC

Something about that makes me feel weird idk

2020-11-22 03:05:46 UTC

Like having a world government

2020-11-22 03:06:11 UTC

The pope is in favor of one central government

2020-11-22 03:06:42 UTC

Wow

2020-11-22 03:06:46 UTC

This is a lot

2020-11-22 03:06:49 UTC

The people in the catholic church I believe would be Christian if they believe Jesus died for their sins. But they are mislead in the past

2020-11-22 03:07:21 UTC

Well we do believe he died for our sins

2020-11-22 03:07:23 UTC

One of the popes in the mideval ages declared that you could only go to heaven if you paid a tax

2020-11-22 03:07:27 UTC

At least I’m pretty sure

2020-11-22 03:07:38 UTC

Bruh

2020-11-22 03:07:55 UTC

There have been a lot of bad popes

2020-11-22 03:08:07 UTC

Maybe we just interpret that differently

2020-11-22 03:08:38 UTC

Maybe? Idk

2020-11-22 03:08:58 UTC

I can pull up more things if you'd like

2020-11-22 03:09:10 UTC

I have a question about faith since I’m not exactly a religious person
