Been developing carbon/metal composed adhesive composites for non machinable SRMs
And 3D printed mandrels
But the last test I did was a PVC engine (3/4) but I capped the end, then packed with clay, then fuel, then clay, then cap again. Drilled the nozzel through the cap and clay
It was a flying IED
No recovery charge
I make rockets out of pool noodles and anything laying around, so I don't care if I lose it, although that's not preferable
I don't recommend PVC
Have you seen what it did to a lot of rocketers
It's X-ray transparent
So shrapnel wounds meant they can't get em all out at the ER
I normally wrap them so if they should explode they won't send shrapnel everywhere
I was teaching my nephew how to make them
This is from last year
It's just a powdered fuel... Not solid
Wow that flew really high
Yeah, my powder engines work well, but I want that lift sucka
Ammonium perchlorate
And aluminum poweder
This was the most recent failure
Lol
The flying IED
If the nozzel had been a little larger probs would have been fine. It was also top heavy, hence, the flying left after it took off
But that was just a test
Once I get it right, it will have a lot of lift
Dang you should really use a electric ignition system
Yeah, whatevs lol
I like the old fashioned fuse or even a sparkler
Lol
If you need help building one I can help, I literally do all pyrotechnics behind a blast sheild
I have an electric igniter, but I need to get plugs and the little wires
Unless they can be made
Yes they can be made
You just need nichrome wire and matches
I use 3D printed plugs, but tape can work too
Where can you get the wire?
I just hate buying anything I don't have to. And fuse is cheap lol. But so are wire and matches
After I perfect this, I will move on to more advanced fuels
