I love how the "goal" for helping black families be more successful is.... give more government money/handouts and stop convicting them of crimes
why does no one else need that
they should be looking up at black immigrants who achieved the american dream
Yeah. It's not something in the system right now stopping them. It's their own mindset believing they are doomed
not trying, and choosing to check out of society and/or commit crimes
they may have a bad family because of history, but that doesn't mean that blacks are doomed
That's not something special to black people
^
Ultimately, you are the one responsible for your own success.
they like to say black people since they tend to be poorer, not sure if that's gonna make it any less motivating
Think of a child who went through massive abuse, whatever you can think of
oh nice I came across a great comment
At the end of the day, if, as an adult, they become a serial killer and their actions/decisions were influenced by the abuse they went through as a child, it isn't their parents who get convicted
At some point (p much always) you are responsible for your own choices
finally someone who says it isn't racist and governements is making people lazy
they will be influenced by parents teachers others etc, doesn't mean race is a factor at all
Why are poor white people able to succeed but poor black people see they're poor and just give up?
That's an attitude problem in the community and/or the family.
When you have people like this person saying WELL YOU ARE DOOMED TO FAIL then I wonder why they think they will never amount to anything
that's not the case for every single black person tho
Granted, I'd like to see a little more individuality and rebellion where people say, "you think I'm never gonna be something because of where I come from? HA. WATCH ME."
like who would try when they hear the system is against them?
how many black wrappers came from a poor backgroun and are now uber rich from hard work?
how many actors?
How many football players?
Ben Carson was from the ghetto and tried to stab his mom
He's a renouned brain surgeon now
they didn't do it out of government pity, they did it because they tried
I would try. It's the same reason we vote.
I'm white. I've had every 'leader' around me growing up, including my mentor in my graduate program, laugh at me for my goals.
My thesis mentor looked at my thesis and first thing he ever said to me was, "how's it feel to be writing something that will never be published?"
I just got accepted into a forensic psychology program. The first professor I was told to talk to for guidance for signing up for classes heard my background and was like lmao, wtf are you here???
I can imagine if I was black, it wouldn't be motivating at all everytime I hear "whites get more loans" "blacks get less prison time"
granted I'm asian and we technically get more than whites but doesn't prove anything
I know what everyone shit talking your goals feels like. And sure, I could give up, or I can decide what I want and work for it and prove them all wrong. Ultimately, your choices are your own, you choose whether to let others influence you or not,
Why did any of us vote in 2016 & 2020 if we know the system's rigged? Because we gotta try anyway
I'm sure. It's completely demotivating, but it's not white people just getting stuff handed to them to be successful. That's a lie they're been fed by their parents, community, media
I junderstand your point, the thing with voting is that it's a one time thing, actually trying takes years
and then saying why bother and complaining they deserve stuff for free
they aren't mentioning asians lmao
Asians don't count as POC
