Economic conditions in addition to the fact that there are more minorities in cities are enough to justify the difference.

@LuckyPuffy indeed

2020-10-27 20:46:36 UTC

they teaching is in the right spirit but they go about it in the wrong manner

2020-10-27 20:46:57 UTC

I'll actually have to agree with chaz here a bit.

2020-10-27 20:47:58 UTC

Nah man. Any person that truly believes someone is different because of skin color is dumb. Any body trying to teach someone that they are inherently racist because they are white, are also racist.

2020-10-27 20:48:18 UTC

Culture is the difference that needs to be acknowledged

2020-10-27 20:48:25 UTC

I've never noticed race ever in my life until it's brought up or to discuss disproportions.

@LuckyPuffy Funny you say that bc my school is starting focus groups tomorrow and I'm volunteering for it just to see it.... and possibly get a $100 visa gift card

2020-10-27 20:49:14 UTC

The best way to teach divirsity acceptance is to state the idea of race is a socail construct and rise above it. we must relise that this social contruct has lead to much suffering and we cannot discredit those expierences, so lets work together to stand against an atiquated an perverse idea

2020-10-27 20:49:38 UTC

Or, here's an idea; we just ignore race. Very simple.

2020-10-27 20:49:46 UTC

No

2020-10-27 20:49:57 UTC

@DarkSkyKEC yeah, but some people suffer from the social construct that is race

2020-10-27 20:50:24 UTC

Nobody here discredits the experiences that racism causes.

2020-10-27 20:50:25 UTC

@SPRTNWRRYR1974 yeah, but we gotta deal with the repercustions of old ideas

2020-10-27 20:50:32 UTC

However, most people in the U.S. are not racist today.

2020-10-27 20:50:38 UTC

yep

2020-10-27 20:50:40 UTC

to both

2020-10-27 20:50:57 UTC

And you don't help minority communities by forcing equal results instead of giving them equal opportunity.

2020-10-27 20:51:16 UTC

@DarkSkyKEC yeah, that clause is because just saying there is no race, helps but it would be better if we helped fix some of the daamge done

2020-10-27 20:51:46 UTC

Race IS NOT a social construct. It is part of our genes.

2020-10-27 20:52:00 UTC

wait what . . .

2020-10-27 20:52:01 UTC

Only in the sense that it determines skin color.

2020-10-27 20:52:02 UTC

?

2020-10-27 20:52:07 UTC

Mmm

2020-10-27 20:52:27 UTC

Hmmm, maybe I'm wrong, lemme know.

2020-10-27 20:52:30 UTC

melenin should not determine oppertunity avalibility

2020-10-27 20:52:33 UTC

There are disproportionate genes among populations, sure, but that's related to population and not race.

2020-10-27 20:52:46 UTC

@LuckyPuffy you kinda are we're all pretty equal

2020-10-27 20:53:23 UTC

If we are all equal, why do you even fight for equality? 😂

2020-10-27 20:53:31 UTC

but in covid new: we're all going to die 😆

2020-10-27 20:53:51 UTC

@LuckyPuffy no, equality is what we need to work towards

2020-10-27 20:54:00 UTC

99.69% chance of survival.....I'm in danger

2020-10-27 20:54:12 UTC

It's not useful to solve these problems through the lens of race.

2020-10-27 20:54:21 UTC

> 99.69 chance of survival.....I'm in danger
@little hollow Mommy, I'm so scared!!!!!!

2020-10-27 20:54:27 UTC

Even if the issue was caused by past racism.

2020-10-27 20:54:41 UTC

oh, you mean 2.5X the number of americans who died in ww1 dead, pssh thats nothing to worry

2020-10-27 20:54:43 UTC

about

2020-10-27 20:55:09 UTC

alos there still are very racist people out there

2020-10-27 20:55:11 UTC

I think there's a difference in being shot and contracting covid-19.

2020-10-27 20:55:17 UTC

not you all but there are
