True libertarianism is based in liberalism, which is a leftist value
Ah ok
Well
I guess I lost this one.
Thats too low energy
wheres the rebuttal
high energy
I mean, you're right.
I don't need high energy when I know I lost.
Whats your political alignment
Well, I'm currently on the right
The last time I took a 8values test, I was a moderate conservative
like do you lean authoritarian or libertarian
I think generally speaking it's safe to assume we all lean right on this server
Yeah
I think I was authright the last time I took the compass
Not too extreme tho 🤔
what do we consider too extreme
You know, I consider radical ideologies to be the extreme ones
I feel like thats almost less clear than we started
also i think given the rights current proclivity to be on average more libertarian, having traditionally conservative viewpoints can be seen as outlandish or "radical"
Hmmmm, true that.
Like how many people are actually advocates of reversing the legal definition of marriage today
as an example
Huh.
Like, sure, civil unions are fine imo
But I am not too sure about marriage when it comes to same-sex couples
that's like a normal conservative mentality, but imagine what the news would look like if someone tried to write a bill changing the definition back to it's original state
regression, homophobia, evil, bigot
key words youd probably find in all the headlines
and a large sect of the right would also just agree
Oh shit...
That's too bad...
And how is it homophobia to go back to a state of nature for over so many, many, **many** years? I don't get it. Sure, the Romans and the Greek were homosexual, bisexual or whatever, but wasn't Christianity like... giving us some sane purpose?
Like, I don't want to go back to that era of paganism, we have Christianity and other monotheistic religions for a reason
I mean there's a natural law argument against it as well
but true
I guess that the natural law that they think of is the good old prehistorical law
no
as in
homosexuality is inherently unnatural
Ah. Well... that's an actually complex thing, and the answer changes depending on your perspective.
