look all I'm saying is to not be a victim of the victim mentality. I married a hot and cute Korean I had a child with her and making enough money to be put in the middle class have a nice suburb home owns a tesla. can you imagine where I'll be it I were to ponder how victimize my ancestors were on BOTH sides of my BLOODLINE?
Im gonna go thanks for being willing to calmly debate good morning and bye everyone @HarleyQuinn
@Sgt.Jeffry United States Enclave always a pleasure.
How is remembering your history being a victim?
It isn't... it's usual projection. We've been getting alot of it lateley.
Nobody is saying to be a victim. They are saying not to forget history as you seem to be arguing for. Forget Nazi's, forget 9/11, forget history, because history is the equivalent to victimhood.
oh, I dunno "SLAVERY IS BAD JIM CROW, FIVE NATION ENSLAVE THE PHILIPPINES" At this point, I'd rather not remember shit that won't help me in any way shape or form.
but you do you i guess.
I think part of remembering history is to safeguard it against revisionists. Tell the truth and let the chips fall where it may. No use "changing" it to apease anyone.
like why should I pay thousands of dollar for a prerequisite subject like history 101 when I'm taking an engineering course?
Do you know what I mean?
That is what you get for going to a liberal arts course. And that is not the equivalent to what you've been making the case for. You've been making the case for forgetting history not the case for not learning history for a degree.
books should not be used in schools anymore it's time to make learning cheaper.
jesus people still buy hundred dollars worth of books?
why humanity cant use internet yet?
stop switching the topic

@Froski i dont think engineering is a liberal course.
it's engineering
jesus christ.
Do they teach basic econ in engineering?
It depends on where you go to school. You're probably going to a liberal arts school that requires you to take general courses.
Why, it's engineering? <@732667002568704109>
No, you switched to flaws with the education system, you did not defend your point, on how learning about your history is wanting to be a victim

@Killermanjer still in history.
boy.
not at all
also, no need to talk down to me, sir.
it's a useless waste of thoughts and time.
to be anxious about why your ancestors were enslaved and killed so you can ponder it when the reason they persist is for you to live your life free from such anxiousness.
the best thing you can do for the vets of ww1 and 2 is to live your life with honour and dignity.
to contribute further for your fellow man and yourself.
Imma be back later, just turning on the news <:salut:730846445732888630>
well for my father side some brits took or buy(depending on who you asked) slaves from Africa and brought them here as PROPERTIES. My mother side well the country of the Philippines were enslaved by 5 countries and despite being free from all of them still a 3rd world shithole. none of which will benefit me, my wife nor my child.
i think knowing that your country ended slavery is pretty cool tho
again if you really wanna know one's history you can easily watch videos or learn how to search for them in libraries or if you're feeling futuristic on GOOGLE.
the brits were the first one to end slavery
Nobody is trying to learn history even. They are simply memorializing and remembering a tragic day in history, just as people remember other tragic events. It has absolutely nothing to do with being a victim to remember history.
I think at this point WW2 is remembering what happened, and remembering how bad it was, 9/11 is for honoring those who fell, since those families are all alive and still around, this year is the first year that people like myself are in college that weren't alive when it happened

@Froski you're still in 9/11? didnt i address that i already open up the talk wider than just that?
Its not victimization its remembering ones history and honoring the fallen
