@Doctor Pepper, the First No, at the time we were already a largely self sufficient nation that was sending tribute, in effect, to the empire and we asked for representation in parliment which was denied. We exausted all legal recourse and as such yes rebelled, and really without the intent of becoming our own nation at first , more hoping for our demands met but rest is history

But we do not believe we will "help the poor" by giving them money, we believe we help them by giving them the opportunity which means access to competitive education, jobs and services. The best way to do that is variety (lots of options)
