No competition for Intel
past a certain scale transistors just kinda change state out of nowhere
randomly
I'm happy with my FX™ 6350
I'm happy with my 12 thread xeon
i'm probably just gonna go for a 1700, but i'm still tempted go go for dual x5650
the 1700'll probably outperform it in most tasks but the really multithreaded stuff i do miiight actually be better off with the xeons
maybe even four of em because fuck it
I have an l5640
old enough the price for quad socket board won't kill me
I was able to overmeme it to 4ghz
no oc for me, i'd be cobbling together a eorkstation out of a retired dl380 lol
Just go for a 1700 tbh
maybe a 580
yeah the 1700 is def. easier
although there don't seem to exist any actual good am4 motherboards yet, only gamershit
hp has one but it's a low end itx board for their consumer desktops
maybe if/when they roll out new amd workstations i'll take a look at them for it again though
if I'd go for a gpu upgrade at what point would it be stupid?
oh wow they're expensive now, damn buttcoin mining clown
tbh fuckc ryptocurrency
i cant get my 480s :/
just wait (tm)
although it's kinda looking like i may end up going for anticonsumer nvidia anyway since their midrange cards are stomping higher-end amd cards on linux through sheer driver bullshit
RX 570 and RX480 almost the same price <:palethink:328535816597012480>
i will have to find out how nice it plays with multiple display adapters xinerama though
Thanks Cryptocurrency cunts
i know amdgpu is perfectly happy to drive multiple displays from multiple different gpus at once
dunno if the nvidia drivers will play nice with it
Who else here comfy with their Intel™ i7 CPU™?
slight bit of buyer's remorse with my Ryzen 7
I cannot emulate android for android studio very well
which is needed for this assignment i'm working on
@Obolon Prime are you running it with amd-V
because that's disabled by default iirc
@Kaytee android studio doesn't support haxm
So I have to use arm images
Which are slow asf
haxm is intel's virtualisation stuff, android studio does support it but on amd you use amd-v
