Yeah I mean I'm with ya I don't like pandering either
> Imagine if you would, if Twitter had a public policy of you having to make at least one politically correct statement a month or you get your account banned
@Gene. Rod Sterling vibe in that line
At least then they would be open about it.
Personally I'd prefer companies stay outta politics and culture in general
I don't have a problem with them giving out their opinions or whatever,
What companies should be made about making money and customer satisfaction if they decide to take that route
It should never be made about political correctness we're trying to get new deals because of how politically correct you are
Isn't that the same thing tho?
Literally everybody at my high school who is gay, anybody who I talk to at least, we all agree that we all get fed up with these stupid YouTube advertisements which are directly supposed to be appealing to the gay community
They appeal to the gay community by basically stereotyping and mocking us
Humm. I do know what you mean but it's not for gay markets imo
Not all gay people are like James Charles, not all of us are Head Over Heels about small tiny food
We don't go around calling other gay people sisters or anything like that, we're everyday people who just want to be treated with basic decency and be able to because we are potential customers
do you find that identity politics has weaseled it's way into the Canadian education system?
Be appealed to*
absolutely,
It's to prove they are 'progressive' or whatever and get that market which is ironically just the wealthy liberal i ugess
Before I was officially in the high school, I was threatened to be beat up because I mentioned that my religion says there are only two genders. Even though I'm not very sure on my personal opinion
It's strange, because after I joined the high school nobody ever had an issue
But yes, it feels like identity politics has severely been introduced into the education system in Canada
For example,
Is a gay person have no problem saying that the pride flag should not be on the same flag pole above the country's flag
I ask because I'm also Canadian and I'm worried that my nephew will eventually see that "Equality vs Equity" apple box baseball picture in class. It's only a matter of time :/
I don't know.
My personal belief, schools have been too political
They have to be to keep their money flowing in
At my old school, I believe I was constantly treated differently because of my political views
here's the best way to put it,
he's still super young though
There were days where I was regularly assaulted in the school, attacked and mocked,
And any time I was brought into the school office
The principal was threatening to get police involved, I specifically asked him to get police involved but he refused
yeah... it's more dangerous to come out as conservative now then it was to come out as gay 50 years ago
I wouldn't say *that* extreme, but it's bad.
The principal constantly warned me for impersonating a police officer or trying to commit Stolen Valor. Even though I never claimed to be a police officer or Soldier, and I never pretended to be one out of a game of friends
I literally did one joking British salute to a friend because we were talking about a very British subject,
And for that I was threatened to be charged with Stolen Valor
And when I asked the principal to get police involved because I was physically assaulted, he refused
And with my town, the police service is great. And I would trust my life with them.
But it feels like political correctness has severely affected the political correctness has severely affected the service
