I don't disagree but I think the phrasing is the issue, shouldn't the elderly be empowered to decide for themselves if they will take risk or not?

If I got COVID I think it would be fairly bad for me. I have Asthma and COVID restricts breathing a lot so I’d probably be in the bed for a while.

The lockdown affects our mental health a lot. A lot of people have gone into depressions because they have no purpose and they cannot benefit society when they are stuck in their homes.

If Americans decide to take the risk to go to work and function completely as if COVID did not exist and they spreader it more and more, imagine how many would be infected. It would for sure affect a lot of elderly people and would end it with tons of deaths for those that with conditions that make COVID way worse.
