i guess turning it into a router
IBM and Samsung have the 7nm silicon patent, Samsung has a trades deal with global foundries
grab a couple nics and slap pfsense on it
And amd owns glo fo
Dude the a8 9600 ain't half bad for old games
a8-6600k
Ahhh
How was it
was actually pretty usable for gaming when it came out, i was surprised
but it's getting a little rough aroudn the edges
Gotcha
also still kinda amazed at how much less power the new thing will use
i went ahead and grabbed a 750w psu just in case i want dual 580s down the road or soemthing but honestly 500w is kinda overkill for a 1700 and a 560
most of my computers are either super-low-power or proper servers with fkn redundant 1kw psus and such
Dual 560s = 1 and 1/3rd rx 470
Its pretty good
i will almost definitely just end up settling for dual 560s
i'm not crossfire gaming want more performance, just
i want to drive all six monitors with reasonable performance
A 470 is 5-10 percent faster then a 290
And a 470 is pretty fucking good at 1440p high
1080p maxed is a breeze for it
gonna be 5 dell 1708s and then this dell 1080p monitor i forget the model of
i love me some sxga
It'll mow thru games
not as much as qxga but sxga is comfy
You'll love it
i onl;y play old games anyway tbh
Then get a 550
It'll be all you'll need
newest game i played was newdoom, and i killed the last instance of windows on my network
so wont be playing that again soon
and newdoom ran great on the a8 and an r7 265, so if i DO wanna grab windows and play it again fkn
i don;'t expect a 1700 and a 560 to have any issues
already ordered the 560 though since it was only a $15 difference
Keep the a8 as a secondary gaymen build
a8 is probably gonna be either pfsense box or electronics bench computer
Ahhhhh
easier to just have another computer there for writing to mcus
i used a pi for that for the longest but compiling on a pi is slooow
