Many people say they are Christians but never actually asked god to be saved

He recently started to try and redeem himself by going to work for the first time in 15 years

This kind of symbolic terminology can't reach someone who isn't religious.
Christians who always talk like that sound like preachers, not like regular people.
I want to find someone who talks about why they believe in Christianity, why do they think God exists and the afterlife too, and to be blunt about it.
