It's not as complicated as you would think honestly. It's just intimidating because it's overwhelming at first

@🅱øg Wizard you have to look at it system by system. Each car is made up of parts that make up a closed system (Fuel system, Intake/Exhaust system, etc). All these systems then work together to accomplish a specific goal. Then the overall concept (a running, well tuned car) becomes much more apparent.
It's best to start with understanding how an engine operates, then you will see why all these other little complex parts are added to the engine, in order to make it's job easier/more efficient.

90s cars are when tech got somewhat complex due to emmision. Emission standards, and the parts used to meet those standards, are generally what make engines look more complicated than they really are.
