Depends what you want to do with it too. And where and when it was made. If you get it check out AK operators union. He posted some stuff about how to cheaply accurize those rifles with Russian and Finnish techniques.

2020-12-17 03:14:58 UTC

I'll check it out

2020-12-17 03:42:56 UTC

Some day I want to build a primitive hunters cabin in the woods to go escape from society

2020-12-17 03:43:14 UTC

No electricity

2020-12-17 03:43:19 UTC

Just fire

2020-12-17 03:47:05 UTC

I'd have some electricity, because alot of expression of moods and stuff comes from music

2020-12-17 03:47:37 UTC

Solar packs for charging phones and portable JBL speakers

2020-12-17 03:49:04 UTC

But how will I chill my beer to enjoy my fires with lol

2020-12-17 03:50:42 UTC

Go in the winter

2020-12-17 03:50:53 UTC

Oh wait your in the south

2020-12-17 03:51:18 UTC

Well an ice chest or mini freezer attached to a solar generator

2020-12-17 03:53:01 UTC

It’s called a creek haha

2020-12-17 04:01:46 UTC

Thats where im going friday night

2020-12-21 15:26:51 UTC

Today’s outdoors tip. For a great fire starter, coat some cotton balls in petroleum jelly. You can store them in a ziploc bag, an altoids tin, whatever. They light easily and burn for a couple minutes. If using a ferro rod just pull the cotton ball apart to expose the dry cotton inside, will light first strike

2020-12-21 15:28:09 UTC

Also pretty much water proof. Best method I’ve found. Keep a couple in bag, they don’t weight hardly anything.

2020-12-21 15:33:20 UTC

just use dryer lint with the same method

2020-12-21 15:35:04 UTC

Burned shit at property other day

@SilverWolf I keep my dryer lint as well. Just easier to keep the center dry with cotton balls. Only important with a ferro rod, but that dry cotton is big for a rod

2020-12-21 16:55:28 UTC

I stuff dryer lint in anything hollow in my packs. Doesn’t hurt to have

2020-12-28 21:16:55 UTC

1911 pistol, yes or no

2020-12-28 21:53:40 UTC

For fun sure, for use. No

2020-12-28 21:55:17 UTC

The 1911 was from a time where pieces were hand fitted. Modern manufacturing doesn’t work well for that design. For a good 1911 you need to spend a crazy amount for a gun.

2020-12-28 21:57:30 UTC

Basically a great gun, very cool, but not practical. Just depends what you want it for.

2020-12-28 21:57:50 UTC

I’d love one in 38 super auto though....

2020-12-28 22:02:17 UTC

No. Ammo is more expensive, harder to find, and your limit is 7 in the mag plus 1 in the chamber.

9mm is the way to go

2020-12-30 00:23:05 UTC

Tempting....

2020-12-30 01:43:39 UTC

Stay away from that garbage

2020-12-30 01:43:57 UTC

The steel that is

2020-12-30 01:44:31 UTC

@🅱øg Wizard too heavy for your taste?

2020-12-30 01:44:50 UTC

No its the equivalent of buying snake oil

2020-12-30 01:45:11 UTC

Not only does it not stop green tip the spalling probably will kill you as well

2020-12-30 01:45:30 UTC

I had them

2020-12-30 01:53:02 UTC

These companies like AR500 lie about the dangers of their product. Ceramic is the only true armor one should use

2020-12-30 03:45:39 UTC

Green tips aren’t armor piercing..... and they don’t penetrate level 3 ar500 plates. Green tips are just overhyped target ammo.

2020-12-30 03:47:34 UTC

Still, avoid that crap. Its not worth your life if you get hit by a rifle threat and shrapnel goes flying into your jugular

2020-12-30 03:54:35 UTC

I certainly wouldn’t call it snake oil. It serves a purpose and I would rather have it than not have it.

2020-12-30 03:58:41 UTC

And about the green tip to those who are buying ammo in this panic, don’t spend extra money on green tip. It has a steel core, not a steel tip. So it doesn’t have a penetrator. It was made to shoot through thin helmets, not body armor.

2020-12-30 03:59:54 UTC

And as the soldier in Mogadishu (black hawk down) found it. It has no stopping power. It doesn’t expand. It just punches little holes that don’t incapacitate.

2020-12-30 04:28:20 UTC

Hey if you wanna buy faulty products based off lies thats on you. Im just telling you that steel plates are dangerous to the user.
