2016-07-20 08:58:50 UTC

Hrm

2016-07-20 08:59:00 UTC

like i just want a heavy USB hub

2016-07-20 08:59:11 UTC

one with some weight that isn't housefire

2016-07-20 08:59:48 UTC

iirc powered 3.0 ones with 7 ports are at 12 bucks

2016-07-20 09:00:01 UTC

link me

2016-07-20 09:00:07 UTC

i dont need 3.0

2016-07-20 09:00:25 UTC

2.0s should be extremely cheap

2016-07-20 09:00:36 UTC

You talked about them being expensive, so I thought you referred to the 3.0s

2016-07-20 09:00:37 UTC

no

2016-07-20 09:00:42 UTC

theyre really lightweight

2016-07-20 09:00:47 UTC

i had one once

2016-07-20 09:00:54 UTC

The problem with these is that they feed power back into your Computers

2016-07-20 09:01:03 UTC

Even good non chink ones

2016-07-20 09:01:12 UTC

i want one that plugs into a wall

2016-07-20 09:01:24 UTC

So, a powered one?

2016-07-20 09:01:40 UTC

@Camphor76-22-2 Elaborate, I didn't know about this

2016-07-20 09:02:03 UTC

So they'll damage the USB port in the long run?

2016-07-20 09:02:10 UTC

They leak current back into the computer through the data lines. So yes

2016-07-20 09:02:46 UTC

Dont buy powered hubs from china especially

2016-07-20 09:03:01 UTC

Well, I haven't powered mine yet, thankfully

2016-07-20 09:03:32 UTC

There have been several recals/lawsuits here in the states about this in the past

2016-07-20 09:04:34 UTC

Well, this is good to know, thanks

2016-07-20 09:04:57 UTC

I was planning of getting a cheap power supply to fuel it, but I guess that plan is now put on ice

2016-07-20 09:04:58 UTC

god this would ne nice

2016-07-20 09:05:04 UTC

but it's 30 so many dollars

2016-07-20 09:05:38 UTC

That's relatively expensive

2016-07-20 09:05:45 UTC

Lemme check the brand of the one I've got

2016-07-20 09:06:26 UTC

Well, I've got this one, actually:

2016-07-20 09:06:39 UTC

But I think they're about the same

2016-07-20 09:06:50 UTC

Or hrm

2016-07-20 09:06:51 UTC

The ports themselves should still work for charging, and if you sre handy you can get a multimeter to see if yours is leaking current, so all hope is not lost.

2016-07-20 09:06:51 UTC

Maybe not

2016-07-20 09:07:12 UTC

Oh yeah

2016-07-20 09:07:27 UTC

I was thinking of getting a multimeter

2016-07-20 09:07:29 UTC

But never got to it

2016-07-20 09:07:36 UTC

Thanks for reminding
