Intel chips don't scale well with single threading. The only reason they seem to is because more threads relieve the workload of the one. You're just barely skating by with an ip, though. Since a lot of games are becoming quad core minimum. And the hyperthreading gets counted as such.

i got a i3 6100 cause the i5 6600 is overpriced

and intel's next gen chips use the same sockets anyways
