It always seems like all those bluetooth/wifi/sdcard addons for the arduino have more powerful chips than the thing itself
micro USB port for power and programming
I always thought of this project if I could get down the size to for example raspberry pi zero to affordable price
to have wi-fi chips, and hook them up to steal electricity somehwere like this one can and run VPN at public wi-fi or some shit.
Maybe I'm going into an area I shouldn't be in
they draw so little electricity its practically unnoticeable
I know I've had one for months and checked how much it uses
under high load max 0.6 Ampere
which means all four cores 100%
just under 3 W
I could get it more down
Know that some power goes to GPU too
so you can undervolt it
yeah they are pretty efficient
or low power at least
Well, we are going into more efficient turf
With the A53 cores and so
15W ULV i5s are probably more efficient per FLOP
ARM chose to do power efficiency over performance power so far
since they are mainly used in phones
I didn't actually look into the newer chips
but apparently the 820 is a quadcore instead of an ""8core""
I guess they just put more cores in to combat the lower juice they could output
and it still competes with 8cores in multicore benchmarks at pretty low ghz
Octa-core A53 is now a thing
thats the chinky cpu right?
the helio
Mediatek is Taiwanese, I say chink but some other people like to call taiwan, HK etc for not chinkland
sure they have it "better", like HK has free internet for example (non censorship) but we all know that the chink gov have attacked them brutally
HK vs Mainland is a joke, they will be crushed
as you can see there is quite the price difference so far
But that is since Amlogic actually included a TV tuner with the octa core
they are crazy, these TV boxes might be about to go next level. I know Xiaomi used that one with Dolby licenses to make Xiaomi Android TV box which does Netflix , YouTube, Amazon in UHD with DRM
Features VP9 software decoding
I am still waiting for the new video format to come out
the one that will beat H.265 and be royalty free, I support free software.
yeah
speaking of tv boxes
