should I get a chromecast? If my PC is like... 10 feet from my TV would I just be able to run a cable and do all the same shit?

well i wouldnt want to tie down a whole pc on just low quality paid streams
my problem with all the various boxes and sticks is that they never do encoding well enough for my chinese cartoons
yeah chromecast seems to struggle streaming mkv
i use videostream for it seems to get the best results
its nice to have when visiting family and stuff to stream muh netfrix/crunchyror/hbogo tho
paired off with a phone
how the fuck do i set this up
my xiaomeme doesn't detect it
my computer can barely set it up
and the update require doesn't go past 0%
finally got it set up
seemed to be a DNS issue
my flatmate set me up a guest network when I moved in
Seems to use router DNS rather than the Google Default DNS

I went full meme and bought one of those 2.1ghz keyboard/touchpad slabs
I plan to run it with KODI and Fusion Installer
So I can stream sports and torrents
But I do plan to give it to my father as a gift
Ok, more difficult that I thought
Cause it can do Flash streams somewhat
Sopcast and Acestream is proving difficult
Cause LocalCast doesn't support it at all
Meaning I have to mask it through another app
And edit an XML file to prevent it going to LocalCast first
