After the first time the cover comes off easy

This is because, well, the stuff inside can and will fail

So if you're gonna repair you should sell the thing to someone you don't like

If you're gonna give away then be prepared to repair it again

most people get the USB soundcards becasue they dont have a microphone jack

best one to get is the UGREEN one though

since the cheap ones suck

go into your recording devices by right clicking on your sound icon in the toolbar

then rightclick on the device you'd use with the mic port and hit properties

then go into the custom tab and see if AGC is listed

or potentially some other propriatary gain control
