yeah you're right, did it

2016-12-05 17:45:29 UTC

this ones taking quite some time

2016-12-05 18:02:11 UTC

Anyone know of a decent and cheap 6 channel fan controller? Needs to fit a 5.25 bay, and be a hardware voltage control. Not pwm.

2016-12-05 18:03:15 UTC

you mean with potentiometers, not using a mcu

2016-12-05 18:03:45 UTC

wired up in parallel

2016-12-05 18:04:47 UTC

but 6 of them

2016-12-05 18:04:57 UTC

in a 5.25 bay instead of 3.5

2016-12-05 18:05:11 UTC

Uh, preferably potentiometers for that sweet variable control. A 3 channel would be fine if I could find a 2 and 3 way fan splitter cheap. But most of the ones I seen are 5$+, and I seen 6 channel controllers for like 25$ on Newegg. Was just wondering if anyone knew of something chinky for cheap.

2016-12-05 18:05:37 UTC

Pretty much, yeah.

2016-12-05 18:06:46 UTC

I have not seen one with 6

2016-12-05 18:06:54 UTC

there's 5 in big lots

2016-12-05 18:07:43 UTC

Damn. I'll have to go through Newegg I suppose. I seen some on there for fairly reasonable prices anyways.

2016-12-05 18:09:07 UTC

two on top, two on the back, two in front, right?

2016-12-05 18:09:19 UTC

Three front, two top, 1 rear.

2016-12-05 18:10:27 UTC

why not pwm btw

2016-12-05 18:10:45 UTC

Gentle typhoons on intake.

2016-12-05 18:10:55 UTC

you could cook one up with an arduino

2016-12-05 18:11:15 UTC

cannon for fly aproach eh

2016-12-05 18:12:33 UTC

Something like that. A simple high lo off controller would be fine. But I'm pretty keen on the variable control idea so I can tweak all the fans to find that sweet spot between airflow and noise.

2016-12-05 18:13:12 UTC

I imagine they won't be nearly as noisy at full speed with the air 540 case, though. Almost zero turbulence.

2016-12-05 18:13:49 UTC

Current case is a fractal clone with that shitty plastic "vented" filter insert. Makes so much fucking noise.

2016-12-05 18:14:03 UTC

Plus the basement acts like a damn echo chamber because no vented top.

2016-12-05 18:14:17 UTC

Back to work. Thanks for the help.

2016-12-05 18:22:40 UTC

i mean

2016-12-05 18:24:05 UTC

if you don't want PWM it ends up being as simple as splicing a potentiometer into the wiring; the problem with that design is your space and usability constraints

2016-12-05 18:24:36 UTC

you can fit the controls really close together in a 5.25 bay without nice knobs

2016-12-05 19:10:03 UTC

I need a phone so I can get some work. I haven't had a phone in 5 years. I want to get a Samshit Nexus S, put replicant on it with f-droid. Can someone spoonfeed me please ?

2016-12-05 19:10:14 UTC

>haven't had a phone in 5 years

2016-12-05 19:10:38 UTC

since this is csg you're asking on, xiaomeme

2016-12-05 19:10:52 UTC

but you want replicant

2016-12-05 19:10:56 UTC

so idk about compatibility

2016-12-05 19:12:00 UTC

I would like to buy a samsung nexus s specifically because it's kind of old and I don't want to spend a lot of money because I'm poor as fuck

2016-12-05 19:12:32 UTC

Is replicant a must? because you can get decent xiaomi phones for cheap and then install CM 14.1 on them

2016-12-05 19:12:50 UTC

>havent had a phone in 5 years

2016-12-05 19:12:58 UTC

>plan to get a samsung nexus s

2016-12-05 19:13:12 UTC

pls no bully

Did you just come out of jail or something

2016-12-05 19:13:27 UTC
