I think the miband 2 is definitely the most well reviewed chinkband so I would probably go with that though I have no first hand experience
yeah basic research shows it can do all the things my surge /should/ be able to do
my surge does last a week on one charge, though.

honestly the only issue i've had with it is that the notification icons feature is kinda useless
it only has special icons for a few apps, so it just says "app" on screen for most of my notifications
I don't feel my phone vibrate like 99% of the time
yup, i had the same issue, and this thing solves it
it would just be nice to see the type of notification too

@dissociativity do you use it for notifications much? i always figured vibration was the biggest battery drain for mine, since i don't use the heart rate sensor
nop, just sync my fitness data and use it for the time and occasionally heart rate and of course viewing steps
but battery life for my purposes is god tier
nice
i primarily use time and notifications; sleep tracking and steps are nice though
the issue with sleep tracking is that i'm inclined to sync it every morning -- didn't think about how that would affect battery life
