youtube vanced is pretty cool

newpipe stops working everytime youtube changes any part of its website and they have to fix it manually. i remember reading they said its because they scrape the website instead of using any api since then they would be bound by that api's rules against what they let you do

and fdroid is slow to update it for somereason so its best to just get the apk releases from github directly

the github said they were dealing with internal project issues for a while and werent updating fdroid. the apk releases always worked well so i didnt look into it
