no thanks
my cracked version had the "tool" in the install wizard
or, should I say, precracked version
heres the generator for the file if you need GUI for it https://officedev.github.io/Office-IT-Pro-Deployment-Scripts/XmlEditor.html
libreoffice and google docs exist
Libreoffice sucks
how so
seems pretty good to me
Crashes often
on windows maybe
its been fine for years on various linux distros for me, but i admit theres something strange about it on windows
atleast last time i tried it on windows years ago. you do know they update software and fix stuff right?
Yeah but it doesn’t help
could you be specific
says vague
ha
anyway an actual complaint about libreoffice is that it doesnt support the most obscure new features microsoft keeps adding to look busy. but itll still do your shitty 5 paragraph essays with the normal stuff like double spacing and 12 point new times romans with headers and footers and page numbers and save to docx and pdf and none of my professors have ever complained or noticed anything
except i think one time like 3 years ago but i cant remember if i accidentally submitted the wrong format that wasnt docx
Libre office is what i mostly use but indeed they had quite bad crashing problem on windows what took them some time to find and their word processor if missing at least 2 functions (they are under works tho) . Google sheet is really bad even as multiuser spreadsheet option, sheester, etherchart etc are way better on that front (and microshit excel is total shit when it comea to multiuser stuff )
Then there is few more exotic options what do their job equaly or just miss few options
(Calligra anyone ? )
office 365 which is online and free
Lol no
I mean sure if you want to use em, but for me thats a nope mostly due superior and not dependant stuff exists
Latex
largely replaced by nitrile tbh
and LaTeX is not really suitable for research and fast notes its more aimed to write the things clean and publish
not to mention the immense size of full latex installation
not that average joe ever needs full install
but most dont even know what and what they dont need
Yeah, but we're on the topic of essays? If we aren't just take a piece of paper and a pen..
oh wait nvm I get what you mean
scanned essays to pdf is best word processor
it's about on par with gdocs
but their multiuser is absolutely dreadful between web and app
had to use it for a project and if we both were logged in at the same time we wouldn't be able to see each other or our changes
and saving would revert the others changes if they had saved while you had the document open
Ended up just installing the app and uploading each revision of the file to Google Drive
