I think it just died after 2,5 years of use
not your day
and yeah, memories do tend to die absolutely randomly without notice
it's dead
windows doesn't handle dying or improperly functioning storage devices well, it's a flaw of the storage driver
Thought's on buying an AMD 2600 cpu and putting it in a x570 AS Rock Taichi ?
Thinking about upgrading the CPU later down the line, and the Ryzen 2600 can be bought for really cheap right now.
x570 is still overpriced and also you should just buy a b450/x470/JustWait(tm)
Current part list, will use other parts on hand to finish build.
and there is virtually no benefits to more expensive motherboards unless you're running the highest end chips and overclocking or need some very niche features
Nah I plan on getting the 3900x
uh then id just wait or something
why even bother
or the Zen 3 equivalent
To upgrade my current i5 4670k system
oh shit
i was on 4670k
what are you doing on a 3900x
CAD
What did you upgrade to?
programs that took 100 cpu util now take 15
feels gr8
where do you live
oh
down under
i can't really speak about any of those prices
i think you should get better ram
ryzen scales a lot better with faster ram clocks and smaller ram timings
also there are varying types of overclockable ram skus that will push harder than others
typically ballistix is cheap and on micron e-die which means its budget and overclocks well
if you dont care for overclocking then try to find something at 3200 mhz/CL16 at least
those are just figures im pulling out of my ass though
ok cheers. I will go for the cheaper Asus mobo, might bump back up to the 1tb ssd and 32gb ram.
I got the 3700x, with an too expensive x570 ASUS board. I figure next gen AMD will be the last on AM4, so I might upgrade the CPU or get a cheap used 3900x. After that I guess we'll see DDR5 in 2021 earliest.
