It's not fully true that people from Hiroshima don't hate Americans though. It's mostly about the older generations but there's a saying in Japanese that goes something like - The hateful Hiroshima and the praying Nagasaki.

Since in Nagasaki there were tons of Christians they mainly coped by praying while people in Hiroshima were just angry.
