you can either open it up and replace the whole connector in the gr07 or try taking it out but I doubt that's possible

Are there any earbuds/cables that have a particularly good in line mic or are they all comparably similar?

I found the KZ mic on my ES3 to be decent when I tested my google dongle on my PC but I don't really have much to compare it to

also I'm not at home so don't take that too seriously as I can't test it again

The KZ in-line mics are better than other mics at that price range, most of the time

Though, a dedicated lapel mic is going to be better.
