2019-03-07 14:53:59 UTC

lmao

2019-03-07 14:54:45 UTC

@Tribit because if bezels are thin then i assume it's prone to cracked screen

2019-03-07 14:55:05 UTC

sorry that's for the note 5

2019-03-07 14:55:10 UTC

this look like it will peel off in 2 months lah

2019-03-07 14:55:59 UTC

Been using mine since August last year

2019-03-07 14:56:02 UTC

so no

2019-03-07 15:00:09 UTC

It won't peel off in 2 months

2019-03-07 15:01:33 UTC

you're telling me that the note7 that costs 30-40% less than the mi9 AND has expandability, headphone jack, bigger battery?

2019-03-07 15:01:51 UTC

is CPU/camera literally the only selling point over the note?

2019-03-07 15:02:08 UTC

Not sure

2019-03-07 15:02:24 UTC

The Note 7 has 48mp back camera

2019-03-07 15:02:38 UTC

has someone actualy confirmed it being 48mp

2019-03-07 15:02:48 UTC

or is it just "we have 2 cameras so it adds up"

2019-03-07 15:03:03 UTC

@Tervy that's how dual cameras work

2019-03-07 15:03:03 UTC

or some interpolating magic

2019-03-07 15:03:21 UTC

i take that as "no"

2019-03-07 15:03:50 UTC

You're not right in the head, you can easily look up the sensors of the thing

2019-03-07 15:04:35 UTC

i mean `` 48 MP, f/1.8, 1/2", 0.8µm, PDAF
5 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor``

2019-03-07 15:04:42 UTC

is indeed 1 camera + DOF unit

2019-03-07 15:04:53 UTC

not 24 +24 mp "now we have 48mp camera"

2019-03-07 15:05:23 UTC

on how it reads on gsmarena specs at least

2019-03-07 15:06:07 UTC

im looking at specs now and the big difference i see are just, CPU and maybe screen if one prefers AMOLED

2019-03-07 15:06:58 UTC

£150/200 vs £300-400 the fuck is this lah

2019-03-07 15:07:11 UTC

what is mainly why i am asking if its really 48mp sensor

2019-03-07 15:07:18 UTC

and not just marketing being marketing

2019-03-07 15:07:19 UTC

>theindianwire

2019-03-07 15:08:14 UTC

@Tervy that's because pajeets got stuck with two versions of the phone

2019-03-07 15:08:15 UTC

again

2019-03-07 15:08:32 UTC

WHICH IS WHY I KEEP SAYING FOR AGES THAT THEIR MODELS DONT MATTER

2019-03-07 15:08:59 UTC

They have a Note 7 Pro which is what the Note 7 (Global) is for the rest of the world

2019-03-07 15:09:00 UTC

that indian is indeed talking about the 48mp model

2019-03-07 15:09:04 UTC

did you even read it you silly cunt

2019-03-07 15:09:47 UTC

It has a Sony IMX586 sensor

2019-03-07 15:10:09 UTC

Snapdragon 675 SoC which supports the sensor

2019-03-07 15:10:27 UTC

he Sony IMX586 uses what is called a Quad-Bayer pattern to accommodate 48 million RGB pixels in the 1/2-inch sensor. That’s as high as it can go for smartphones at present. Now, to capture colour, camera sensor requires what is called a Bayer filter on top of the photosensitive element. The Bayer filter consists of square colour filters, with each square assigned for a specific colour — Either red, green or blue. The red filter block will only allow red light to pass, and similarly, the blue filter will only allow blue to pass. Once the colours are filtered using the Bayer Filter, they are restored by the ISP to bring you the bright, colourful and vibrant images you like.

In case of the Sony IMX586, the Quad-Bayer array and the photosensitive element below it can deliver data straight out of the hardware independently requiring no software interpolation. The Samsung sensor also uses the Quad-Bayer array on top of the photosensitive element, however, the GM-1 breaks each Red, Blue and Green pixel into four smaller pixels (of each) which allows it to output an image with an effective resolution of 48 megapixels.

👌

2019-03-07 15:10:40 UTC

True 48MP

2019-03-07 15:10:42 UTC

so yes "effective megapixels" is not megapixels
