5X3 is a 5w, triband model
F8HP is 8w, dualband

you have more use out of bands than transmission power unless you happen to have ham-ham license

8w in theory has near double range but irl its more +4 to +6 miles if even that

but most likely tad bit more penetration rangewise

and having that 8w radiation next to your head / balls

4 to 6 miles can be quite a big difference if you live in a densely populated area

double the power is like 1.4x range on paper before the weather etc problems iirc

sure double the gain on the antennas and you double the distance pretty much (and battery usage :P)

inverse square law and irradiance are the things for the math needed

but yeah unless its line of sight the extra sending power wont do much
