Knobs the size of a single switch are now becoming popular in the mechanical kb autist community, turn controls volume, press is play/pause

now someone should improve that and make it into a 4 direction joystick for previous/next and other stuff

for many your average psp-joystick chip would be way better option with proper coding

you can spin it for volume

it has 8 axis and click iirc

just simple microprocessor to scan for the movement and interpret what they are trying to do

iirc psp thing gives different values for each direction (not just "-+ 100" for up down) but i can remember wrong
