so they are giving us pics of earth that arent accurate

2019-05-24 18:54:13 UTC

but u trus tthey are giving u accurate evidence of space ?

2019-05-24 18:54:13 UTC

as far as I know, anyway. lol I'm canadian and don't know my geography down there very well

2019-05-24 18:54:40 UTC

oh, I know most pics aren't 100% accurate. They're composited.

2019-05-24 18:55:25 UTC

that photo might have wide angle distortion to fit more in the field of view.

2019-05-24 18:55:37 UTC

so it's not accurate to eye.

2019-05-24 18:56:06 UTC

but I don't know what lens they're using, so I can't be sure.

2019-05-24 18:56:16 UTC

so the people u trust arent giving us accurate evidence of space

2019-05-24 18:56:45 UTC

so the earth isnt flat its confirmed

2019-05-24 18:56:47 UTC

if your definition of accurate is "true to the eye" you might be expecting too much.

2019-05-24 18:56:54 UTC

are u trusting them to give us inaccurate evidence of space ?

2019-05-24 18:57:23 UTC

if they show us part os a sphere and florida is taking up a fourth of it i dont think that is an accurate representation of the globe at all not even close

2019-05-24 18:57:42 UTC

they're not trying to prove the earth is a globe. they'd use a wide angle lens to fit more of the earth on camera.

2019-05-24 18:58:02 UTC

so they are purposely not giving us an accurate representation of earth

2019-05-24 18:58:02 UTC
2019-05-24 18:58:29 UTC

so, the distortion is a compromise.

2019-05-24 18:58:31 UTC

se citizen doesnt matter what u show people

2019-05-24 18:58:35 UTC

see

2019-05-24 18:58:52 UTC

u got no proof nasa lies that u can show people ?

2019-05-24 18:59:06 UTC

without them having to use common sense ?

2019-05-24 18:59:07 UTC

I'm not saying what you're saying isn't true, Jeremy. but I'm trying to look at all points of view.

2019-05-24 18:59:27 UTC

do u trust nasa to portay space to us accurately ?

2019-05-24 18:59:48 UTC

defining "accurately" as "true to the eye", then no.

2019-05-24 18:59:56 UTC

so how do u trust them

2019-05-24 19:00:02 UTC

explainw hat u trust about them

2019-05-24 19:00:12 UTC

because using wide angle lenses doesn't mean they're lying.

2019-05-24 19:00:19 UTC

ok explain how u trust them

2019-05-24 19:00:23 UTC

I can understand why they'd use them.

2019-05-24 19:00:58 UTC

i can undertand why they use them as well

2019-05-24 19:01:07 UTC

its how u put a curve on a flat plane

2019-05-24 19:01:16 UTC
2019-05-24 19:01:45 UTC

it's also how you fit more of the earth into a picture and not just a tiny portion. again, they're not trying to prove the earth is a globe.

2019-05-24 19:02:05 UTC

and they arent trying to give us an accurate representation of earth

2019-05-24 19:02:27 UTC

we know florida cant take up half a hemisphere so its not accurate

2019-05-24 19:02:33 UTC

for the most part, no. I think they're offering a distorted view to fit more image on screen.

2019-05-24 19:02:34 UTC

not even close

2019-05-24 19:02:43 UTC

ok so how do u trust nasa

2019-05-24 19:02:56 UTC

a variety of reasons, but for the most part, I have no reason not to.

2019-05-24 19:03:00 UTC

u know what nevermind

2019-05-24 19:03:08 UTC

u trust a govt agency ive heard all i need to know

2019-05-24 19:03:19 UTC

fair enough.
