Lunar eclipse

2019-10-05 18:47:28 UTC

I can say picture from space but, you dont belive anyone expect yourself soo

2019-10-05 18:47:52 UTC

why a Lunar Eclipse proves that the earth is an oblate spheroid

2019-10-05 18:48:56 UTC

Easy, shadow of earth is slowly eating a moon, before 45min I went outsied and saw half-moon, banana moon or lunar eclipse. Moon in 340.000KM away from earth so that means shadow is more than possible.

2019-10-05 18:49:13 UTC

how do you prove such thing

2019-10-05 18:49:21 UTC

Lol?

2019-10-05 18:49:34 UTC

that the earth is 340.000 km from the moon

2019-10-05 18:50:19 UTC

How do I prove it's 340KM. Maybe because they were on moon and before that scinetist counted distance by moon position.

2019-10-05 18:50:45 UTC

hmmmm, not a strong enough proof

2019-10-05 18:50:51 UTC

try again please

2019-10-05 18:51:25 UTC

If Earth is not making that shadow, than what does it?

2019-10-05 18:51:38 UTC

idk, could be many different things

2019-10-05 18:51:44 UTC

your the one that must justify it

2019-10-05 18:52:31 UTC

Ok

2019-10-05 18:53:16 UTC

There are two ways to measure the distance from the Earth to the Moon on your own: using a Lunar eclipse and using parallax.

2019-10-05 18:54:01 UTC

interesting

2019-10-05 18:54:19 UTC

You don't know parallax means right?

2019-10-05 18:54:27 UTC

I googled it now

2019-10-05 18:54:30 UTC

but please procede

2019-10-05 18:54:39 UTC

we can also use the light speed

2019-10-05 18:55:14 UTC

Parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines.

2019-10-05 18:55:32 UTC

Use light speed?

2019-10-05 18:56:13 UTC

Lights needs 1.25 seconds from earth to moon

2019-10-05 18:56:14 UTC

ya

2019-10-05 18:56:29 UTC

shoot a laser beam on da moon and see how much time it takes to come back

2019-10-05 18:56:31 UTC

That means 8 earth, round earths can fit in that distance

2019-10-05 18:57:14 UTC

It practically needs 2.50sec for laser beam to come from moon

2019-10-05 18:57:24 UTC

Am I wrong?

2019-10-05 18:57:41 UTC

idk

2019-10-05 18:57:45 UTC

but it would be

2019-10-05 18:57:48 UTC

299 792 458 * 2.5

2019-10-05 18:58:14 UTC

Lol?

2019-10-05 18:58:15 UTC

and there ya go, distance from the earth to da moon

2019-10-05 18:58:22 UTC

So whats distance

2019-10-05 18:58:23 UTC

299 792 458 m/s, the speed of light

2019-10-05 18:58:47 UTC

749.481.145 meters

2019-10-05 18:59:02 UTC

There are light seconds, light minutes, hours, and light years. Which one?

2019-10-05 18:59:19 UTC

it's the speed of light on meters per second

2019-10-05 18:59:32 UTC

299 792 458m/s*2,5s

2019-10-05 18:59:36 UTC

cancel the two s

2019-10-05 18:59:54 UTC

Ok, and even that far, shadow of Earth isnt possible on moon?
