CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTW) - A North Carolina couple that allegedly brought young girls to Myrtle Beach to engage in prostitution will enter guilty pleas, according to court documents.

Zerrell Fuentes and his wife, Brianna Wright, filed court documents Tuesday that confirm their intent to enter a guilty plea, but specifics of the plea are not available. Court documents state both suspects voluntarily enter a guilty plea and the court accepted both pleas.

The duo, along with Zerrell Fuentes' mother, Tanya Fuentes, was indicted by a grand jury for driving three minors from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach for prostitution.

The indictment document says the events took place between April 28, 2016, and May 8, 2016, and involved three female victims under 18 from North Carolina.

The document says Zerrell Fuentes used a phone to recruit minor victim to engage in sex acts for money for his benefit while he was in jail in North Carolina. The money from the conspiracy would be used to pay his bond so he could get out of jail, the bill of indictment said.

While he was incarcerated, he organized for his wife, Brianna Wright, to drive the victims from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach. Zerrell's mother, Tanya Marie Fuentes, traveled with her daughter-in-law and paid for lodging for herself and the young victims.

Brianna placed internet ads for commercial sex acts, provided her phone number to potential customers to arrange "dates" between the victims and customers and drove the minors to those pre-arranged prostitution dates.

Each suspect was charged with one count of sex trafficking conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking of a minor, and three counts of transportation of a minor to engage in prostitution. Brianna Wright and Tanya Fuentes are also charged with one additional count of sex trafficking of a minor.

CORNING, N.Y. (18 News) - A protest organizer was arrested for petit larceny for allegedly stealing a Tom Reed campaign sign, according to Jim Allard, Steuben County Sheriff.

Gary McCaslin, from Corning, is a leader of the group Citizens for a Better Southern Tier.

Yard signs paid by Tom Reed's campaign were disappearing previously, leading them to put tracking devices in signs, according to Abbey Daugherty, Communications Director for Tom Reed's campaign.

The tracking device lead them to McCaslin's home, according to Daugherty. In a video, published by the campaign, someone is seen approaching McCaslin at his home.

McCaslin can be heard in the video saying, "I don't know anything about a GPS tracker. I can't believe you tracked this sign to my house. Is Tom Reed that desperate, that he has to put little things like that inside of a sign to track it?"

McCaslin has to appear in Corning City Court at a later date.

ALBANY -- Tensions remain high Tuesday night after a week of shootings. A group of crime fighters called the Guardian Angels returned to the city after setting up a local chapter back in the 1980s, but they weren't welcomed back with open arms.

The Guardian Angels patrol the city streets unarmed, trying to stop violence.

2018-07-11 18:25:16 UTC

Whenever there's a shooting in the city, it leaves us heartbroken. It leaves us in crisis," said Albany resident Vivian Kornegay.

The group says it came to the city after about a dozen people reached out saying they wanted their help patrolling the streets.

Others questioned who really invited the group.

2018-07-11 18:25:29 UTC

The Guardian Angels say they just want to be given a chance.

"There was a domestic dispute here. We broke it up quietly. This is what we do. We're very adept at doing these things and I'm not saying other groups can't do it also, but face it, we have a 39-year track record behind us," said Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels.

Community members say they might have felt differently if the group had just reached out before showing up.

I think a FULL financial audit of all politicians by a firm We The People chose would be a good start.
