MCALLEN, T.X. (WFLA-TV) - Law enforcement officials are asking the public to avoid a Texas mall due to reports of an active shooter.

NBC News reports that citizens are asked to stay away from the La Plaza Mall in McAllen.

On Twitter, the Houston Field Division of the ATF said it is responding to the active shooter at the McAllen mall.
