He claims to have gotten it from a current employee of that same company: "Columbia gas of Lawrence was repairing a high pressure gas line so they diverted all the gas into a low pressure line (for whatever dumb reason) and it was too much to handle. So far at least 26 houses have blown up and at least 2 people dead. They've evacuated 3 towns. Columbia gas is gonna lose their shirts in lawsuits. People are going to get fired and possibly see jail time.”

@Smiley you got more sauce on that high pressure to low pressure line
Because most district high pressure lines only have 12-16 lbs,low pressure lines 2-4 lbs. Not totally doubting(1%) but I've worked/certified by Columbia gas(written/visible) but that was 15 yrs ago. That is not how you purge a line,And I've done countless high/ low pressure installs and repairs both plastic /steel.
My personal belief is old steel lead seal gas line,But higher pressure would make them leak like a sieve. Lead seal lines are leaky little bastards, they were most used in City limits,rural areas welded steel lines. Also I've resealed many of those leaky bastards. Days will tell ,either way Columbia/ Contractor is going to need to get there check book out!
