@Dina how r u tonight, sorry i didnt ask earlier. 💖 🦋
@romotec No, it wasn't looked upon as a good thing for women to serve back when I was younger... except for nurses and the like. I don't ever remember having the desire. I was the flower child looking for Utopia - war was NOT in my realm of thinking. FYI, I've been around the sun many, many times.
I also wanted to be a missionary. That was the year I graduated...
Then I got married and didn't find a mission.

@Agent 34 its all good I too wasn't called to serve at first. 26 when I finally got tired of working 3 jobs and not even able to stay employed very long at that. funny part was the recruiter made it sound so good and I suddenly felt moved/called to sever with no war. soon after there was a war. douh bart

@romotec you lucked out. my hubby (then boyfriend) was drafted, but didn't have to go (medical). There was a war at the time - Vietnam, of course. So scary! Sometimes I wish to be a part of the military club, but would I have been willing to go against the way I believed... I don't think so.
I have a niece that ended up at the Marine's recruitment table. She ended up joining too because of the sell they put on her. She didn't have to go, tho. Can't remember why. She ended up working an office job in Cali.
