I see that as a failure in parenting.
I see it as a trifecta
No GOD, No Parent, No Education
The ones who were supposed to raise them, teach them right from wrong and instill in them values and morality have failed outright.
Mis-Lead all My Sheep
Mind you: A failure in parenting is usually a function of a failure in economy
In this case, it is a major vulnerability caused by the requirement of most households to have two full time incomes to keep afloat
Today's ignorant and totalitarian Leftist kid burning Portland - his parents failed him, but his parents' hippie parents failed them, and their 'Greatest Generation' parents decided that after the Great Depression and World War Two they were going to spoil their kids. Give them everything they want, everything they themselves were denied. And they spoiled GENERATIONS.
Yet Today
It's no mistake that the now mostly unmarried 20 and 30somethings are in the financial shithouse because they didn't get married, when the economy has been geared to price things at what 2 income households can afford.
.....
They complain about not being able to afford the American Dream, when they ignore all the pre-reqs.
@T E M P L O I T E R i feel this. my parents had an extremely tough upbringing so when they finally got their heads out of a bottle they showered me with gifts and things and get mad that i haven't toughened up from the same hardships they have
it's oxymoronic
tbh the prereqs are kinda shit too. The work environment is broken. Workplaces no longer train people.
Widespread adoption of universities and certifying agencies mean that you have to pay out the nose before a job even materializes
it's a shit situation
And not only that, it means that businesses have to hire unproven talent usually
Start democrat party and their created welfare state to have no Man in the house
and the shit schools
and the shit places to live
and the shit democrats ever did for them for real
they ruined My Black Family
@platonic chain and those are the systemic problems we should REALLY be addressing and fighting for, not invented ones that only help more authoritarians gain power.
Curse them to Hell
Basically, yeah.
government sucks
@platonic chain that's why i will always say job experience trumps degrees. give me the person who's done 4 years of manufacturing work over the one with the bachelors in engineering anyday
100%
UNFORTUNATELY, they won't get solved, because the real solution are *apprenticeship* systems which are basically like.
Check Ben Carson who wanted this job forever
Going to make things look inherently racist.
I Love Ben Carson with a Passion
Because nobody will vouch for le random black kid
They will be solved because the current trajectory is untenable and there are voices like Mike Rowe bringing this issue attention. Reforms in student loans (removing them from FedGov) will help the problem massively.
He wants to really address this and with $500 Bil, we shall see but give them all vounchers and give stable households tax cuts and what not
make Families again
CTE school reform will help. I don't like the Perkins Grant going to college track high schools.
I am a CTE teacher and I support career focused magnet schools.
