2020-09-30 04:12:26 UTC

I quit java in high school, i thought it was the teachers but man coding is fucking boring

2020-09-30 04:12:36 UTC

Coding is a blast

2020-09-30 04:12:46 UTC

It’s also like 20% of the work involved

2020-09-30 04:13:01 UTC

Most time is spent doing designs and project management

2020-09-30 04:13:12 UTC

^

2020-09-30 04:13:19 UTC

So its the teachers then

2020-09-30 04:13:24 UTC

Yup

2020-09-30 04:13:24 UTC

a good programmer plans his code out first

2020-09-30 04:13:37 UTC

which is what i dont do

2020-09-30 04:13:38 UTC

lmao

2020-09-30 04:13:41 UTC

2020-09-30 04:14:09 UTC

Plan first or spend 2x as long refactoring

2020-09-30 04:14:42 UTC

I have used both java and access professionally they are valuable skill sets

2020-09-30 04:14:51 UTC

Java is not a good starting point tho

2020-09-30 04:15:05 UTC

LOL

2020-09-30 04:18:01 UTC

@Sevonas when it compiles on first try... I’m always like oh damn here come the runtime errors!

2020-09-30 04:18:33 UTC

it's scarier when the code actually runs than when it doesn't imo

2020-09-30 04:19:02 UTC

has anyone here ever used canopy coding software

2020-09-30 04:19:02 UTC

It lives!

2020-09-30 04:19:15 UTC

shit gives me PTSD

2020-09-30 04:20:34 UTC

At work we did an audit on each others code last month... one of my workmates had a bunch of n units with return true and the comment of coming soon.... live released code where they were banking on those tests being accurate lol
