the current plan is for the house to vote in Dec. So that the Dems can get a couple months of controlling the news. After Dec vote..they'll get another few months regardless of the outcome. Senate would likely take a procedural vote to control process of a trial that would basically de-rail or shut down a senate trial.

Dems whine some more well into Spring season.
