...meanwhile, the very same day on the other side of India's borders: Pakistan claims they downed one Mi-17 transport with six Indian personell when in fact someone downed a two-seater attack chopper which they however never disclosed. This may have been done so as to inform military planners that India and Pakistan were using cover-stories to clean up insurgents around Kashmir and technically Nepal while maintaining public support through dramatic reporting. Now that Pakistanis have shown up in the streets to support their military against India, they have implicitely also provided the necessary public support for Pakistan needed to carry out counterinsurgency of their own, which they just now started doing, because in not doing so everybody has to assume that India would be crazy enough to start nuclear war over it.

Since Pakistan and India are the only two countries which have a longstanding interreligious as well as border-section quarrels while competing for contracts, lenders and partnerships from abroad with a large difference in population living off local ressources while at the same time maintaining nuclear stockpiles with insurgents running around all over the place, there is probably no better place to start a nuclear holocaust.
But if India and Pakistan can mend their stupid ways like they may have just demonstrated, realistic chances of extended large scale conventional war and nuclear winter are averted.
