The Italy issue with the boat of refugees - by Giacomino Nicolazzo Part 1 An important little fact came to light here in Italy today.
I am sure most of you are by now aware of the reported "Plight of the Aquarius" with its suffering human cargo and how the boat was 'stranded' at sea for two days...as if it were a decrepit and derelict vessel, floating aimlessly at sea. The news of this has been filled with horrid stories of new Italian government heartlessly and without mercy closing its ports as to disallow any more refugees from entering the country.
The new government here is a populist administration and it is being compared to & as equally criticized as the Trump administration in America.
Well it came to light yesterday that all commercial maritime vessels are required to file a float plan, similar & akin to an airplane's flight plan, detailing origination port, destination and plotted course. It was determined that the Aquarius was ALWAYS on its way to Spain.
But a political decision was made to embarrass Italy and its new government by making it appear that the boat's destination was Italy, knowing full well that Interior Minister Salvini would close the ports and deny entry. Italy was made to look heartless, merciless and hateful.
This decision to redirect the boat, which by the way is VERY seaworthy and operated by a Far Left group called Doctors without Borders and is based out of the Netherlands, was done so at the expense of the comfort and safety of refugees aboard and was done for political theatre only. There was no crisis...only the one the Far Left manufactured.
It had been predetermined that the Socialist President of Spain would heroically step forward to receive the refugees, when all along they were expected in the first place.
The Italy issue with the boat of refugees - by Giacomino Nicolazzo Part 2 There were nearly 630 refugees aboard, comprised of 123 unaccompanied minors and 7 women, all within the last month of pregnancy. Had their babies been born on Italian soil, the children would be Italian citizens and their parents as well as immediate family could all legally claim asylum.
The balance of refugees aboard the Aquarius were men between the ages of 18 and 30...almost 500 of them. You can draw your own conclusions!
There was no crisis. This was all a well orchestrated & intentional scheme to embarrass the new Italian government.
