NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - Crime Stoppers Buffalo say a man who is believed to be responsible for cutting off his pregnant wife's arm may have been in the Niagara Falls, NY area.

A news release said Yong Lu is believed to have cut off the arm with a meat cleaver.

Lu is wanted by NYPD and the U.S. Marshals service for assault in the first degree.

CBS New York reports the victim was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

According to Crime Stoppers, Lu attempted to solicit a bus driver into letting him hide in a luggage compartment on a bus that was going into Canada.

The bus driver refused Lu's request.

The release said Lu may have been in Niagara Falls, NY on Friday.

Lu is identified as being 5'8 and 150 pounds.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for Lu's capture.
