Saw 1st hand in Hong Kong in 2006, plainclothes (PSB) officers dressed as tourists pop out of the woodwork during a dispute between my driver and another driver.
Police officers were seen kicking the protester as he lay on the ground, his face pressed against a pool of his blood.
The man demanded a lawyer and repeated that he was complying with police.

I wouldn't plan any travel to Hong Kong right now. Flight might be cancelled by protests.

There were also photos widely shared online claiming that undercover police officers, disguised as protesters, had appeared at the airport.
Many protesters left the airport before 6pm – the rumoured time that the police would take action.
As of 8pm, hundreds of protesters still remained at Arrivals, handing pamphlets to tourists and chanting slogans such as “don’t trust Hong Kong police.”
