I was at a maple syrup boil years ago and I’m pretty sure that it takes 200 gallons of syrup to make 1 gallon of syrup Very labor intensive and round the clock operation

Just looked it up. 40-50 gallons of sap for one gallon of syrup according to one website

But another has a ratio based on the sugar content, I think.

I didn't make this syrup, my neighbor did, but I used to make it all the time growing up... boiling sap by the fire! drizzle the hot syrup over a pan of snow and it makes candy...

@ColdBrewedFreedom I remember those days as well Super fun eating the syrup on the snow but you had to check out the snow first to make sure that it wasn’t yellow 😆
