My Meaning
I'd like to share something I realized. It all started a couple of weeks ago when I noticed the Gem had fallen out of my ring my other half gave me. I was so disappointed because I had been out and about, pulling weeds from the garden, driving lots of places through 3 different counties around me, I had no idea how long the gem had been missing, or where to start looking. All I could do was pray about it and move on. I kept it to myself for a few days, but told my other half about it and showed him the ring with the gaping, pronged hole where the gem used to be. He was disappointed but didn't get upset because he knows me, I loose things all the time.
We went to Florida this weekend and he drove there, placing me in the passenger seat, of course. While buckling in for the trip I see something in the passenger floor board resembling a bead or something, pick it up and lo and behold, there it was! I was so happy, so was he, we high fived and agreed it was a great start for our weekend away together.
Now I didn't have the ring but I had the gem and needed to keep it safe. I placed it in the extra cupholder of the car but didn't want to leave it there while at the hotel. I'm not sure why, but I put it under my tounge, weird, I know. But the words went through my mind as I did so...
" Let this stone, given through love, be the stone that blocks harsh words from coming through my mouth to my other half, to cause no harm or hard feelings."
As I hold this stone under my tongue I'm constantly reminded of the need to hold my tounge. Nobody ever really has to have the last word... God knows everything.
We actually had a great weekend and everything worked out perfect even though not by our "plan" entirely, going with the flow really was much better than planned.
I've spent 3 days so far, holding my tounge and it's working miracles for my relationship. Peace, I'm growing up, finally.
