I think that's the 2 Factor authorization
I don't know about why that would be. Do you see my questions? Yes, Discord is requiring two authorizations.

When I click the gear, I am required to set up a two authorization via a mobile phone. I don't have a mobile phone.

Try that and see if you have a backup code listed
No "View Backup Codes"
